WHY KNX?

There are few things more frustrating than rummaging around looking for remote controls for lighting, blinds and shutters, heating and cooling, audio visual and security systems, with KNX, all of these functions and more, can be controlled from a single device.

KNX is open protocol and royalty free. Allowing for total freedom to use a variety of products and communication methods in all installations.

Intecho can choose from over 10,000 KNX products from over 150 manufacturers, meaning you can choose the aesthetics of your devices, and we can ensure they function in the most optimal way.

KNX is an open source technology, which enables connected devices within a building to exchange information, working together to achieve your perfect set-up, with total controllability for it’s users.

In the past, Crestron and Lutron systems were leading the way in the UK, but we can say that the UK is quickly catching up with the rest of the world, where KNX has long been the standard.

Even though the entire system is integrated and linked, KNX is robust in that the system can isolate failed devices, and the rest of the system can function as normal while remedial works are undertaken.

It is also extremely simple to identify a faulty device, meaning that repairs can be quickly undertaken without a lengthy diagnosis.

Being open protocol, you can remain confident that you remain in control of your building, no matter what you choose in the future.

WHAT IS KNX?

It’s the worlds leading and largest open protocol building controls system.

A future proof technology that is forward and backwards compatible; your  building’s central nervous system can use KNX technology in conjunction with sensors, dimmers, valves, heating actuators and more, allowing total inter-operability and efficiency of use.

There are few things more frustrating at home than rummaging around looking for remote controls for the myriad devices they control. How convenient then, to have them all controllable from one place. A tablet perhaps?

KNX Technology can manage and control lighting, blinds and shutters, HVAC, security systems, energy management, audio video, white goods, displays and remote controls.

Modern technology is transforming the buildings we live, work and play in. It’s making them more energy efficient, more comfortable. Even more conscious. At the heart of this evolution lies the KNX standard.

The growing popularity of KNX is highlighted by Sony becoming the 500th member of the KNX association in 2020, with the number of members doubling in the past decade.

INTECHO’S KNX EXPERIENCE

KNX is at the heart of everything we do, and we can confidently say that we are one of the most experienced and capable implementers of KNX in the UK, with a great density of projects in central London, Cheshire and the North West, and the wider United Kingdom.

We have some spectacular KNX Commercial Lighting projects, and our abundance of projects in Mayfair is a great source of pride; it is our systems that control the lighting throughout Annabel’s Berkeley Square, including the iconic Jungle Bar, and we were handpicked by the design team of Sexy Fish to ensure the famous restaurant was truly brought to life, the Coral Reef rooms are of course famous worldwide.

Commercial building facades receive Intecho’s KNX lighting controls too, we have 5 Motel One Hotels across the UK in our portfolio, as well as Prada’s Old Bond Street HQ, and the flagship store of Flannels on Oxford Street.

Outside of London, projects such as the St James Quarter in Edinburgh, Meadowhall, 2. St Peter’s Square in Manchester and even the Nato HQ in Brussels utilise our commercial KNX solutions to drive energy efficiency, saving between 30% – 50% on annual costs vs. non smart systems.

On the Smart Home side of the business, all our projects consist of a comprehensive KNX system, with beautiful devices seamlessly blending into a home’s interior, while taking complex requirements and delivering an intuitive and adaptable system, which all the family can enjoy, regardless of age or prior experience of such a system.

Scalable. Adaptable. Future Proofed.
