Intecho were recently on hand for the annual and highly-prestigious CEDIA Awards ceremony. CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) are known across the world for being the leading international trade association when it comes to the development of smart home technology. It has links with over 3,700 member organisations globally, and it has offices in several continents beyond its home base in Cambridgeshire.

As part of their work, the CEDIA Awards are held every year to celebrate those who have put forth the highest levels of innovation, expertise, success and inspiration within the industry. This year, these awards were held on Thursday September 26 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and Intecho were delighted to be in attendance along with ABB, who were the official sponsors for this black-tie event. A vast array of exciting organisations were represented, both as part of the awards themselves and for general networking before and after the ceremony, with company managers from Europe, the Americas and Asia on hand.

As well as marking the major successes for the winners themselves, the event provided the basis for presentations and discussions pertaining to the leading products and trends in smart home technology right now, as well as what we can expect to see in the coming months and years. Smart home technology has made tremendous strides during this decade, and it will be fascinating to see how this evolves from 2020 onwards. Intecho will play a vital role in this process, as we continuously work to develop the strongest and most feature-packed smart home technology software possible for our customers.

The credibility of being associated with and endorsed by CEDIA cannot be underestimated, as this hugely successful extravaganza proved. This is significant because it underlines the high, industry-standard level of service that Intecho provides as part of our own smart home products. The seal of approval from CEDIA is the universal indication that we are in the elite class of companies who are the very best at what we do, which is also evidenced by the strong customer feedback we regularly receive on the likes of our KNX software and our audio visual equipment kits. When it comes to Intecho, you know that you will be receiving the very best smart home technology possible, and this has been emphasised by our membership with CEDIA.

The CEDIA award ceremony also offered the opportunity for us to collaborate with other industry pioneers across the country, across the continent and across the world. It is always important to share opinions on where smart home technology may be heading, as well as some of the potential pitfalls that have previously or could in the future prevent ideas from coming to fruition. By exchanging views and comparing thoughts, the feedback from such conversations can lay the foundations for ways to resolve any impasses, and thus open the door for these concepts to become a reality.

In addition, with so many industry representatives present beyond the leading companies and those who had been nominated for awards on the night, it is always a pleasure to be able to explain what Intecho do, the advances that our organisation have made to this point, and where we see our vision taking us as we move into the 2020’s. It is a rare occasion where so many first-class, industry-accredited bodies and their most important figures come together as one in the same place at the same time, which is another reason why we were so pleased to be a part of the CEDIA Awards. We look forward to working alongside CEDIA in the future as we focus upon what proprietors across the world are looking for in smart home technology. We also look ahead with intrigue to the 2020 CEDIA Awards as a platform to celebrate the innovations and achievements of the coming twelve months. Intecho will be delighted to attend this ceremony again, as we aim to continue building our relationship with CEDIA in line with the technological enhancements that will allow smart home software to be even stronger in a year’s time than it already has as we prepare to close out the current decade.
