Intecho recently attended the Light + Building event that was held in Frankfurt, Germany last month.

Held on March 18-23 at Messe Frankfurt, the exhibition serves as the leading trade fair for all innovative lighting and building services technology around the world. Over 2,700 exhibitors were on hand from a multitude of nations to present their products within these fields in front of a globally-represented audience, with all of the major brands and manufacturers present.

Intecho were amongst those on hand, and we were proud to explain and demonstrate the many benefits of KNX. This has become dominant and heavily adopted as an open source technology, with up to 400 manufacturers that we work closely with to bring this KNX hardware to homes and offices across the UK and beyond.

KNX acts as a platform for you to connect all devices within a building as a means of exchanging information and managing a variety of programmes. It essentially acts as the central nervous system for the complex, from handling the likes of heating, energy and electricity within the building to simpler tasks such as controlling your television and smartphone in the house. In addition, KNX provides increased and excellent standards of security, which are a huge benefit should you and your family be away on holiday, or during times when an office is closed, such as at night or during a Christmas break.

We are very honoured to be named one of the UK’s top three implementers of the KNX technology, and the feedback at the Frankfurt exhibition was very positive. We look forward to working with new partners to provide this technology for offices and homes, and we are excited at what the future brings when it comes to KNX as a whole. We also look forward to attending the next Light + Building exhibition when it returns in 2019, and further highlighting our innovations and our work in delivering the KNX technology.
