Client: Private Client
Project: New build property in Cheshire
Brief:
The client, a prominent businessman, was aware of Intecho following recommendations and was looking to incorporate a home intelligence system into their extensive 14-acre estate.
They required a comprehensive system that could be discreetly integrated into the interior of the home to protect the aesthetic. Maintaining the security of the estate was also a primary concern.
The ability to tap into the home controls from a remote location such as an international office or holiday home was also a fundamental requirement.
Intecho Solution:
Intecho designed a solution that would allow whole house control via sophisticated and elegantly styled touch screens and iPads.
IPads were regarded as a desirable solution due to their portability and their dual function, as both a computer and a smart remote. This makes them a more cost effective solution than expensive tablet controllers.
The internal and external lighting, the underfloor heating and hot water provision were all linked to the Intecho system allowing these functions to be controlled on a whole house or room-by-room basis for ultimate comfort and convenience.
A whole house distributed audio and visual system was specified that was capable of supplying HD TV and Sky to principle rooms including the extensive leisure suite. A 10tb media server was provided to store music and video files. The property’s home cinema was fitted with an automated projection screen, HD projector and 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound for the ultimate movie viewing experience.
A comprehensive security system was designed which included video link gate entry and the ability to view any of the estate’s HD colour CCTV cameras on any computer, touch screen, iPad or television within the home, or remotely away from the property.
Once the final specification had been agreed, Intecho liaised on an on-going basis with the Client’s electrical contractors and project manager, issued full CAD drawings and undertook regular site inspections to supervise the installation.
Intecho fine tuned elements of the design during the installation process, including the function of individual room switches and, by working with the architect and interior designer, the lighting scenes and mood settings in individual spaces.
After installation, the Client was given an informal introduction to their new home automation system and the function, features and benefits of the controls were explained. A simplified user guide was generated and follow up visits were made to ensure they were satisfied with the system.
The property is now being marketed for sale, and the Intecho system is seen to be a key selling attribute.
